The Parent Guidance service is designed so you can call on me for support on an ongoing basis, whenever you need it. I listen to your needs, share resources, and point you toward next steps that make sense for your unique circumstances. No parenting topic is too big or too small! Common topics that may be covered in a Parent Guidance session include:

• Where to start if you are concerned your child has a learning difference

• Parenting through divorce, relocation, or other transitions

• Support for parenting and affirming an LGBTQ+ child

• Guidance for supporting your child’s social and emotional well-being

• Support during grief and loss

Special interests include supporting parents seeking to affirm their LGBTQ+ children and children with learning differences.

I take on a limited number of School Placement Priority Clients each year. School Placement services take place over the course of an entire admissions cycle.

Being in the right school is essential for your child's thriving.

As a School Placement Priority Client, you will receive personalized support and strategic advice throughout an entire admissions cycle. School placement services include:

• A personal guide and advocate from the start of the admissions process through placement with priority in Kimbrell’s schedule;

  • Four parent consultation sessions with Kimbrell, which include:

    • Review of  grades, testing and psychological reports;

    • Creation of a personalized school list;

    • Overall personalized strategy for approaching the admission process;

    • Review of applications and all communications to schools;

    • Discussion of options and outcomes;

    • Individualized coaching each step of the way;

  • Two additional sessions with your child(ren):

    • A get-to-know-you session, length and depth depend upon age of child;

    • Interview preparation and coaching if age appropriate;

  • Personal advocacy on behalf of your student(s) with school admission officers if and when appropriate;

  • Email and phone consultation as needed throughout the current admission cycle.

Special interests include school placement for students with learning differences.
